Good Bye Vine Grove

We sold our house. Tears!  (and FINALLY closed on it at the end of May.  The lady we sold it to was an absolute nightmare.  Her realtor was unprofessional and all around made for a hellish experience.)

Anyway, I loved our first house.  If I could pick it up and move it, I would.  The floor plan is perfect for us and we had just gotten it how we liked it.  We completely redid a bunch of stuff including painting every room in the house (previous owners were fond of sponge painting), ripped out all the carpet and put down hardwood floors, replaced brown light switches for cream,  landscaped (although still was a work in progress), and did countless other improvements.

A FEW of the room changes:

Backyard:
(Yard was very much a work in progress and an ongoing project.  Harris despises yard work, aka only mows, so this was my labor of love.)
Before
starting the moss "garden" (erosion control for the shade)
After
Pic is rough as I hadn't worked in yard in a bit but wanted to show results of moss garden

We still are searching for our next house to make a home in Tupelo, MS!

Business in the Front

...Party in the back!!
Clayton says, "Don't be J"

Say-Dee

Clayton has discovered touching her sister, Sadie.  She loves to rub on Sadie (aka de-shed her in my bed), pull on her toes and tail, and stare at every move she makes.
Clayton was sitting in her highchair the other day and making this repeated noise while staring intensely in one direction.  I realized she was staring at Sadie.  Think it was her way of trying to get her attention.
Makes me happy knowing we are passing along our love for pets to her.  It's not like she really has a choice anyway.
And she better get used to her hair cause it sure is everywhere.

Shots Suck at 6 Months too

Clayton had her 6 month old check-up and shots yesterday.

Fun in the waiting room...and a hint to her dad what she wants as a prize for getting shots.
She weighs 17 pounds, 10 ounces (80 percentile)
and is 28" (95 percentile).
Clayton needed propping up in order to sit up....until we were at the doctor's office.  Suddenly, she can sit up.  She hasn't completely mastered it, but pretty close.  The choo-choo trains must have inspired her.
She sure had fun playing on the paper.
Since Harris sadly misses seeing her scream bloody murder at each doctor's appointment, I insist on calling him every visit and make him endure listening to her scream.  He's such a sucker for her, it's probably best he didn't go anyway.  I'd end up with two cry babies on my hands.
"Mom, what the hell just happened?"

Barn Boots

PawPaw (my dad) bought Clayton and Ella their first pair of boots. (It's hard to tell from the pictures but they have brown horses on them.)
She just kept staring at them.
Won't be long until they are tromping around in them....tear.

May Phone Favorites

Mary (our 9 year old niece) feeding Clayton.
The aftermath:
(Think a bib may have been in order.)
My first haircut since November.  It was way overdue.
Clayton trying out her go-pod.
My dad and Clayton watching tv.  This is a nightly ritual.  Not sure who likes the cartoon movies more.  Their matching bald spots are comical.
Favorite part of my day- seeing this smiling face when I go to get her out of her bed in the morning (that's if she doesn't wake up on the wrong side of the bed and is grumpy).
Tommy sleeps all day and parties (stalks) all night.  So to catch him outside in the daylight is rare.
Sadie getting a better view of my parents going to the neighbor's house. (No, she isn't allowed on "most" furniture.)
This is for giggles...I am not a fan (aka really dislike) bows in infants hair.... even if the baby has a fro like my does.
