Double Trouble

My parents were keeping Ella while we were in Memphis last week so Clayton and Ella got to play at Mimi and PawPaw's house.
Baby butts are so cute.
Both just woke up from a nap and not fully awake yet.

Happy 7th Birthday Sadie!

Sadie turned 7 today!
It's crazy to believe that it's been seven years from her puppy-breath, shoe-chewing, potty-training days.

Like anyone who celebrates their child's birthday, we (I) get Sadie a cake for her birthday and we have a paw-ty.
Trying to hold Sadie back to get a pic before she destroys her cake.
Happy Birthday to our furry girl who will always be our first baby!

B-A-D

B-A-D all started when my niece Mary was in preschool and would come home saying something was B-A-D.  We guessed that her teachers probably talked to other teachers referring to children by spelling out B-A-D instead of just saying "bad".  So it's been a joke that we always say something or someone is B-A-D.
Well since Clayton has a mischievous side and keen eye for trouble, she frequently hears B-A-D.  (She's really not bad but just really young to be into all the stuff she's into and fights going to sleep at all costs.....so B-A-D it is.)
I had lunch yesterday with a friend while my mom kept Clayton.  I came home to find Clayton asleep in her exersaucer.
And my mom says, "I've decided that we aren't going to say Clayton is B-A-D anymore.  We are going to say she is 'special'.  Clayton you are VERY special today."

We love our special baby!

Tommy Love

Clayton loves my parent's cat, Tommy.  She crawls to him and likes to rub on him.  Tommy is so sweet and lets her pet him (aka pull his hair and ears).

I don't believe I've mentioned how Tommy came to be a Gaiennie.  In short, he appeared at my parent's house and after mom searching for his owner discovered he was basically homeless.  I told her that if she got him fixed that I'd work on finding him a home.  So she got him up-to-date on his shots and fixed.

That was June of 2008.
But Tommy slowly evolved from an outside cat to an it's cold outside so Tommy can sleep in the laundry room cat to Tommy sleeps in the bed with my dad cat.  Tommy is officially the Gaiennie's 1st cat!!!!
After losing Sissy, I've said we'd wait until Clayton understood going and adopting a kitten.  She's making it difficult to wait.  And the cute faces at the shelter needing a home are making it even harder.  So if you've considered adopting a cat (or dog), I'll be happy to find you one :)

Cousin Fun

My sister's baby, Ella, is about 2 months older then Clayton.  It's funny to see how different they are in both looks and personality.
Ella has lighter skin.  Her hair was more blond but is slowly turning darker.  Clayton is darker complected and has thicker and longer hair.  Hers went from black to light brown.

Ella is chunkier and is more solid then Clayton.  Her thighs are bigger yet Clayton's arms are bigger.  They both are very tall for their age.

Ella values eating more while Clayton prioritizes being a wild buffoon.  We laugh cause Ella learned to hold her ba-ba awhile ago and Clayton has no intentions of holding hers.  She would rather not eat.  Yet, Clayton started being mobile very early and has been getting into everything for awhile now.  She is also the loud-mouth.  My sister always wonders what Ella learned from Clayton while they were together (as in what bad habits did she pick up).
Ella can sit still and be content playing in one area for a bit.  While Clayton is on the go constantly and is continuously searching for something else to get into.  They both want the toy the other one has.  Clayton has absolutely no interest in a pacifier until she sees Ella has one.  Then she steals Ella's and awkwardly tries to figure out how to suck on it.  I'm sure this is just the beginning of "I want what she has."
I can only imagine the fun these two will have growing up.

10 Year High School Reunion

We had a wonderful time visiting with everyone at our 10 year high school reunion.

Actually too much fun.....we'll just say Sunday wasn't productive.

10 Year Flashback

Last weekend was our 10 year high school reunion.  It seems like it was only a few years ago when we were teenagers living with no cares in the world and never missing an opportunity to have a good time.  So let's take a little 10 year flashback.

Laura Reddick's Birthday at school lunch
Spring Formal Senior Year Junior Year.  Can't remember why Rachel and Hope didn't ask dates.  But I took Harris and Drew.
Indoor Soccer Team Morocco.  We changed our name to Ohio Playas for the next season since we lost all our games.  We wanted a fresh start.  So much fun....I even broke my foot when a 40 year old man fell on me.  Good Times.
Pannettes "Rat" Freshmen year.  They would throw nasty stuff on you as "payment" for membership into the social club.  Some got it worse then others.  Membership enabled you to go to two dances each year.  And since Briarcrest didn't have school-sponsored dances, you paid the price to go to social events.  Yep, this was hazing at it's finest.
One of the MANY nights we spent at the Gardner's house.
Going away cookout at my parent's house at the end of summer before everyone headed to college.
Senior Year Football Homecoming Week- Doctor/Patient Day.
Harris was OB/GYNO Dr. Rhea.  Bet Briarcrest didn't expect that spin on doctor day.
New Year's 2002.  We'd already graduated from high school but I love this pic.

People ask "If you can go back in time, what age/time would you go back to?"

My answer would be high school.  It was an absolute blast.  We couldn't have asked for better friends who made every weekend memorable.  We made our mistakes but living in the moment and not thinking of the consequences definitely made for a fun few years.
