Playing Catch Up

Doubt anyone thinks my blog will ever be updated again…….

But, I'm now dedicated to catching up since this is where I keep our family memories recorded.  Because when my blog is out of date, my life is in sorts.  Getting it up-to-date will be a big weight lifted (sounds silly but this is how I operate) and one day, I hope to even get it printed.  Since that was the intent in the first place.

So, I am posting completely randomly with no rhyme or reason our memories from the last year and a half that the blog is lacking.  Big things have happened-- growing up, trips, holidays, natural disasters and everyday moments-- and I hate to have even the smallest memory forgotten.

It may be hard to figure out which ones I've posted since they are backdated and for that I'm sorry but I'm catching up for me so it's the best I've got.  Anything from October 2013 until now maybe new.

Stay tuned!

Ella's 4th Birthday Party

Ella got a fun play set for her birthday!
Clayton loved the face painter.  She insisted on Hello Kitty.
(As soon as I took this pic, Ella ran to play on her play set with friends.  While attempting to do the monkey bars like an older boy, she fell off and hurt her arm.  She spent the rest of her party crying in her parent's bed.  A visit to the doctor the next morning, proved that it was broken.)

Clayton wouldn't do the Elsa Frozen face to match her dress.  So...I was the only momma who got her face painted and I'm not sure who thought it was cooler….me or Clayton.
Charles sat still long enough for a football and loved a balloon princess wand.
Besides a broken arm to remember her 4th birthday, a tree fell down nearby the night prior and they were without power for the party.  The bounce house was run on a generator and as it got darker, the party had the ambiance of candlelight.  Ella ignored the arm pain long enough to blow out her cake candles.

Holley Farms Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Clayton's preschool class went to Holley Farms for their second field trip.
It was educational but mostly lots of fun.  They learned about chickens and collecting eggs.
And about corn and played in it too.

After an early lunch to escape the rain, we took a ride to find pumpkins in an actual pumpkin patch.
Clayton wasn't fond of the leaves touching her legs or a dirty pumpkin.
She picked two "baby' pumpkins for the two large "mommy and daddy" pumpkins that we already had at home.
I love the barrel train and have been begging Harris and my dad to make one since I saw it last year at our visit to Holley Farms.  No such luck yet.
Clayton loved the slides that were on the side of the hill.  How could she not?!  They are pretty awesome.

Before everyone headed home after a fun day, her class attempted a group picture.
After we picked Charles up from Mother's Day Out, Mimi was headed to Memphis from the beach so she swung by and picked us up.  Of course she brought a surprise for the kids, which was perfect since we just came from a pumpkin patch.
Resting up on the ride home to play with PawPaw.

1st Field Trip!…Fire Station

I was thrilled to go on a field trip…as a parent?!  Wow, I'm old!  Clayton's class walked a few blocks from her school to the fire station.
The firemen talked to the kids about fire safety and not being scared of firemen.  We also toured the firehouse.
We also watched the firemen climb to the top of the fire truck ladder.  I am definitely afraid of heights and this gave me anxiety just watching.  It was a really high ladder as this fire station is located in downtown Tupelo and equipped for the office buildings.
I enjoyed seeing Clayton with her classmates.  She is still very shy around others but I can tell she is loving interacting with her teachers and other children her age.
Much fun had on this gorgeous day!
