Kevin's Bar Golf Birthday

We had a surprise Bar Golf 30th birthday party for our friend, Kevin.  We rented a bus and our goal was to go to 9 bars, staying at each one 20 minutes.  There are scoring rules involved that we loosely payed attention to.

Kyle and Brittany

Tara and Brian

James and Bowen

Jackson and Katherine

Our plan didn't stay completely on track but we had fun anyhow.  Fun times!

Neeley KATHRYN Bennett

My best friend, Rachel, had her second baby on Tuesday.  They found out they were having a boy the first time but decided to keep this one a mystery.
As her family waited in the waiting room with anticipation, we finally got a text from John that the baby had arrived.  He sent a few above the waist pictures keeping us in suspense.  Then he sent a picture that showed the ID bracelet.  I told Rachel's aunt, "Let's look on the ID bracelet," thinking it would continue our speculating of any slight thing we could see.  I looked at the picture, zoomed in.....
and plain as day it said GIRL!!!!!
I was beyond ecstatic and trying to contain myself.  They asked me if it said anything and I said, "No!" not wanting to ruin John's big announcement.  Rachel's brother and sister-in-law saw my wide eyes as I looked at the picture and took a look for themselves.  Big smiles appeared on their faces.  Then Rachel's dad studied his camera and started yelling, "It says GIRL!"  I started filming as the grandmothers realized it was a girl.
We were all thrilled.  I wanted Rachel to have a girl so bad.  I know the joy Clayton brings me (not that a boy doesn't bring any) but Rachel had to experience bows, panties, and frilly, pink clothes for herself.
After talking about Garner having a little sister and how excited we were,  John came out to make what he thought was the big announcement.
When he announced her name, Neeley KATHRYN Bennett, I lost it.  Hence why the camera shuts off.
I knew if she had a little girl the first name would be Neeley (Rachel's maiden name) but she completely blindsided me with Kathryn.  She even B-Sed me a few days before telling me middle names she was "considering".  Anyhow, I am beyond flattered.

Father's Day

Harris' favorite jam-jams of Clayton's were her owlie ones (really the fit not the pattern).  I had to hide them when she outgrew them because he kept putting them on her.
10 months
So I was excited when I found Children's Place had more owlie ones.  Clayton gave them to him on Saturday so she would wake up on Father's Day with them on.
Clayton helped Da mow the yard.

 And gave him his gifts.

A new cooler and a white Columbia shirt.

Then I insisted on pictures with his little girls.

And a flashback to last year.

 I made Harris dinner.

Clayton wasn't so sure about a lobster.

But then when he was on the table, she made her typical animal squeekee sounds and cupping her hands calling him wanting him to play.  Little too late.

18 Month Old Check-Up

Clayton had her 18 month old check-up on Friday.  She definitely knows what happens at the doctor's office and wasn't happy about the nurse even looking at her.  She did graduate from the baby scale to the big girl scale.
She weighs 25 pounds, is 33.25" tall, and her head is 18 3/4" around.
Dr. Y came in and checked her out.  The two highlights that we discussed were potty training and her speech.  I told him about her not wanting to keep her diaper on and he said then it was time to start potty training.  He said since she was so young that it would take us 2 months to potty train versus 2 weeks for older kids.  Uhhh.......do I really want to tackle 2 months of potty training?!

And then I asked if her speech development was normal.  He asked if I would say she knew more or less than 15 words.  I thought a bit and said I guess 15 words.  He said she may be two months behind but that we will watch it and he starts aggressive speech therapy at 2 years if there are delays.
We got her dressed and waited for the bad nurse to come back for shots.

There are no shots pictures at this check-up because my mom decided to film them instead.  But I think it's too much to post.
Clayton thought the sucker was an insufficient "I'm sorry" gift from the nurse.
So we left and I decided I'd add up her words and sounds (he said those count too):

  1. ba-ba (bottle)
  2. da-da
  3. ma-ma
  4. PawPaw
  5. wa-wa (water)
  6. tiger sound
  7. moooo (cow)
  8. puppy dog sound
  9. thank you
  10. heeeeey
  11. cat
  12. duck
  13. mmmmmmmmm
  14. dog
  15. nose
  16. eye
  17. hot
  18. uh-oh
  19. cheese
  20. bab-bo (boo-boo)
  21. hat
  22. ow (hurts)
  23. hello
  24. ball
  25. plane
  26. no
So needless to say, I'm not worried and feel bad for slighting my little baby's speech.  She knows way more than 15 words.

Harris said we had to get her ice cream for a treat.

Excuse the funk on her outfit.  We couldn't figure out what it was and then realized that the car seat straps have funk on them and it rubbed on her outfit.  It's since been cleaned.
