We closed on a house in Tupelo this week.
There is some cosmetic work that we would like to do prior to moving in including removing wallpaper, painting the interior, and cleaning the carpets.
I vowed we would not tackle painting again after our last house. My ADHD kicks in and I rush through it making straight edges few and far between. Also, Clayton was really excited with the idea of helping paint but we thought it would be best if she not join in. And as much as Harris says he'll paint, he won't. He hates painting. As I hate painting and will do it anyway, he would just prefer to live with the awful colors. So, a professional it is.
Clayton and I joined Harris for two nights in our new house. Our wonderful friends, Kyle and Brittany (AKA Harris' roommates for more than a year and our only friends in Tupelo), came over for pizza and drinks.
And talk about incredible friends....they helped us remove the wallpaper from our entrance hall.
We received quotes from painters the next day and found a painter to remove all the remaining wallpaper (kitchen, both bathrooms and a border in the master bedroom) and paint the entire interior. So he is working on that this week and probably next. Then once the carpets are cleaned, we will start moving in our furniture which is sitting in the driveway in our two enormous PODS.
Looking forward to making our new house a home and more importantly being a family all together.
