My mom, Mary, Clayton, and I visited Santa early in December attempting to get Clayton's picture with Santa. However, as we waited for two children to go before us, Clayton's anxiety grew and she was on me like a spider monkey. I tried to tell the lady to just snap the picture as soon as I pried her off but she didn't understand the need for speed so we left with my mom saying that she wasn't torturing her grandchild like this. If her mom wanted to then fine. And the answer to that is yes, I didn't mind.
Clayton and I passed Santa multiple times at the Tupelo mall when the lines weren't long and it never dawned on me that I needed to just get it done. Until I went into panic mode the week before Christmas realizing that Santa was going back to the North Pole soon. So I attempted twice at the Tupelo Mall to get her picture taken but that Santa liked to take frequent breaks from kids and his line was ridiculous and never moving since he was always on break.
Harris promised me that he would go with us on Sunday, December 23 morning at the Collierville mall since my mom refused. I devised a plan that I would wait in line and he sit in the car with Clayton until right before. There were only 4 kids in line. He didn't think this was necessary and brought her in and saw the terror on her face so he quickly left and walked around until right before we went up there. We threw her in his lap and couldn't be happier with the results. Oh, she was screaming but certainly didn't mind grabbing his peace offering sucker.
