Sadly, Chris, Phillip, Mary and Ella headed back to Memphis Wednesday so Mary wouldn't miss too much school. So the rest of the gang ventured hiking.
Clayton loves drinking water. Think she back-washes a bit?
We drove a little on Independence Pass. It is the second-highest paved pass in Colorado and is closed during the winter. It is very narrow in parts and the edge is very steep. Some spots narrow down to one lane. My hands were sweating the majority of the ride.
We headed into Aspen and ate lunch at Little Annie's, shopped around Aspen, and then headed to my aunt and uncle's house for cocktails.
My dad bought Clayton this pink fuzzy vest and my mom got her pink Ugg's. She was officially an "Aspenite" (yes, I made that word up.)
Obviously, Clayton got her blue, blue eyes from her da-da.
My parents went to dinner with my aunt and uncle and their friends. So Harris, Clayton and I enjoyed seeing the elk as we drove to Aspen to pick up sushi from Takah Sushi.
And we also saw a porcupine in the road. I wasn't able to get a good picture as it was pitch black dark by this time. But it was fun to see at the end of another wonderful day in Colorado.
