We can't begin to exclaim how much we appreciate my parents for opening their home and hearts to us as always but especially before and after Charles was born. They made transitioning from a family of 4 to 5 much more smoothly. However after BBQ Festival had concluded, it was time to set sail and attempt to row this boat by ourselves. So, the whole family left the comfy home of Mimi & Pawpaw's and headed home to Tupelo as a family of 5.
Charles' umbilical cord fell off the next day.
This mom loaded her pajama-wearing children into the car at 8am (that's really early for us) and made her first venture to buy groceries with two kids. We got back in the car and I literally sang Dora's song, "We did it! We did it! We did it! Yay! Lo hicimos!"
Clayton's new pink Rainbow flip flops arrived for the beach.
While Charles napped, we worked in the yard and met a friend.
And we may have continued celebrating at breakfast the next day.

Clayton continued loving being a big sister.
We attempted to stroll but Charles wasn't having any part of it and we didn't make it much farther than the street.
On May 23, we celebrated National End of School Day with $0.50 corn dogs from Sonic with Kyle and Brittany.
Charles began being colicky the week we came home. Didn't like our house, boycotting being away from grandparents, or who knows what. We finally had enough of the crying and I switched his formula from Similac Advance to Similac Sensitive.

But then we headed back to Memphis after being at home a little over a week as Charles was coughing and raspy (our pediatrician is in Memphis). He already had his one month check-up that Friday but wanted to make sure he wasn't sick before our beach trip the next week. And figured better to be extra cautious since he was so young. He didn't have anything other than a cold which was excellent.
